Displaying EU guarantee notices and labels in your store

From September 27, 2026, under EU Directive 2024/825, businesses making applicable online sales of goods to EU consumers will be required to display mandatory guarantee notices and labels in their online stores:

• The Harmonized Legal Guarantee Notice to inform EU consumers about the seller’s responsibility under the legal guarantee for defective or non-conforming goods.
• The "GARAN" Commercial Durability Label to indicate products that are covered by a free producer commercial guarantee of durability that applies to the whole product for more than two years.

You can enable EU guarantee notices in your store and set up EU GARAN labels for individual items covered by an extended guarantee. You are responsible for determining which products are eligible for EU GARAN labels.

Activating EU guarantee notices and labels in your store

To inform EU customers about guarantees that apply to the products you sell, you can enable EU guarantee notices and labels in your online store.

To enable EU guarantee notices and labels in your store:

1. From your store admin, go to Settings → General → Cart & Checkout.

2. Scroll down to the EU guarantee notices and labels, then switch the toggle on.

   

That’s it. Now, you can enable the Harmonized Legal Guarantee Notice display in your store to inform consumers about the seller’s responsibility under the legal guarantee for defective or non-conforming goods. Unless you do that, the notice will not be displayed in your store.

For individual items covered by a free producer commercial guarantee of durability that applies to the whole product for more than two years, you can set up the EU GARAN labels.

Enabling the EU legal guarantee notice display in your store

After you activate EU guarantee notices and labels, you can enable the display of the Harmonized Legal Guarantee Notice in your store. The official EU guarantee notice can’t be edited because its content and design are prescribed by EU law.

To enable the EU legal guarantee notice display in your store:

1. From your store admin, go to Settings → Legal.
2. Scroll down to the Legal pages and policies section.
3. Turn on the toggle next to the EU legal guarantee notice.
4. (Optional) Click Edit to preview the notice template and change the page title and URL address.

That’s it. Now, a link to the Harmonized Legal Guarantee Notice will be displayed under the order total at checkout and on the customer account page. Customers can click it to see a pop-up with more details and a QR code that leads to the Your Europe portal, where they can find more information about legal-guarantee rights.

The EU legal-guarantee notice will also be attached to Order confirmation emails as a PDF.

Setting up the EU GARAN label for eligible products

The EU GARAN label indicates that a product is covered by a free producer commercial guarantee of durability that applies to the whole product for more than two years. After you enable EU guarantee notices and labels in your store, you can set up EU GARAN labels for individual items in your catalog that you determine are eligible.

To set up the EU GARAN label for a product:

1. From your store admin, go to Catalog → Products.
2. Open the product you want to edit.
3. Turn on the EU GARAN label toggle on the right.

4. Fill out the Brand/trademark, Model identifier, and Guarantee duration fields and tick the I confirm… box.

   

5. Save the changes.

That’s it. You’ve set up the EU GARAN label for a product. This label featuring a guarantee duration in years and the EU-recognized word "GARAN" will be displayed on the product page in your online storefront, at checkout, and on the customer account page.

Customers can click the label to see a pop-up with more details on the guarantee period and a QR code leading to the Your Europe portal, where they can find more information about the commercial guarantee of durability.

The EU GARAN label will also be attached to Order confirmation emails as a PDF.
