Creating custom sections for Instant Site with AI

You can use the built-in AI tool in your Instant Site editor to generate bespoke site sections with unique web elements. All you need to do is describe the section you need and let the AI create it for you. The tool empowers you to make your website even more professional-looking and on-brand and helps you save time and money on writing code or hiring third-party developers.

After creating a custom Instant Site section with AI, you can tweak and polish it in the site editor as you do with other sections.

Preparing prompts for your custom site sections

To generate a custom website section, you need to come up with a task description for the AI, also known as a prompt. Make sure it’s specific and detailed so the AI knows exactly what kind of section you want it to create. You can suggest detailed layouts, mention what content elements a section must have and how many of them, or specify where texts and buttons should be located. You should also include details about the section settings (for example, buttons) that you want to be editable.

To illustrate your description, you can add an image or a screenshot of a section on another website that you like.

Here are some example prompts you could modify and use:

• Create a section showcasing customer testimonials. Display three quotes in rounded boxes with the customer’s name and a star rating below each. Use a light gray background for the section. Each customer quote should be editable, and the star rating should be adjustable to display 1 to 5 stars for each review.
• Generate an announcement bar. It should be two times higher than the regular announcement bar. The background should be a rainbow gradient with golden stars all over it. The bar should have an editable text and two editable buttons on both sides of the text.
• Design a promo banner section. Include a header and two sub headers, with the sub headers side by side, and a “Shop now” button. Use a dark grey background for the section and bold the header text.

Generating custom sections for your site with AI

You can create a custom section for your Instant Site with AI by describing the section you want in the site editor.

To generate a custom section for your site with AI:

1. From your store admin, go to Website → Edit Site.
2. Click Add Section, then scroll down to Advanced Solutions.
3. In the Generate new section from text or image with AI block, click Generate Section:
   
4. Describe how your desired section should look and/or upload an image to help AI understand what you want.
5. Click Generate. The AI will use your inputs to create a working site section for you.

6. Your new website section will open in the site editor. Adjust it however you like on the Content and Design tabs.

   If some of the section elements are not included in the site editor, you can regenerate the section and explicitly ask AI to include the setting in the editor.
